Paris welcomes couples with romance and spring until June 21

by

It’s a fact that we’ll always have Paris, that’s what cinema taught us. And it may be that, precisely because of this certainty, the French capital often ends up “for the next one” when choosing a romantic destination to visit as a couple — “let’s go here first, Paris will always be there”.

It turns out that, after more than two years of pandemic restrictions, and in the middle of the European spring (which runs until June 21), there could not be a better time to visit France. The reopened attractions and mild climate are the perfect frame for the most sentimental city in the world.

Once there, it’s time to explore the main attractions. For couples who are fans of the arts, starting with the museums is a good option — and here it is essential to warn that, for some years now, you no longer go to tourist attractions in Europe without having, at least, made prior reservations via the internet.

Learn all about the construction of the Arc de Triomphe and take beautiful photos of Avenue Champs-Élysées from its top, with tickets from 13 euros. At the Louvre, admission costs 17 euros, and the time of the visit can be scheduled through the website, always every half hour. It’s a chance to see up close such famous works as the Venus de Milo and the Victory of Samothrace, and the paintings of the Mona Lisa and The Wedding at Cana.

A less familiar but just as fun itinerary includes the National Museum of Natural History in Paris, in the 5th arrondissement, where a “line” of stuffed animals transports tourists to an impressive and moving movie set.

Schedule a visit in the morning and, on departure, have lunch at Le Jardin des Pâtes (4 Rue Lacépède). The small restaurant with an unpretentious facade has pasta made from ingredients such as wheat, barley and rice on the menu.

At the Eiffel Tower, abuse the sunny romantic photos, but give up the idea of, as is tradition on bridges around the world, hanging a padlock to symbolize your love — given the danger of a metal object falling from above, warnings on the Grids reinforce the ban on the practice.

The ticket varies depending on the day, the choice of how many floors to climb and the method of reaching the top (stairs or elevator), but it averages between 17.10 and 26.80 euros.

Don’t miss the romantic urban parks, where you can walk hand in hand, have a coffee and, who knows, enjoy the scenery for a special request.

The Luxembourg Garden is in the 6th arrondissement and even has a lake where, in bucolic scenes, children drive toy boats.

The Parc des Buttes Chaumont is less known to outsiders, it is located in the 19th arrondissement, and its main attraction is the Belvédère Island, perched on a 30-meter cliff, perfect for passionate kisses.
