Two months after the appointment of medical examiners Nikos Karakoukis and Nikos Kalogrias as experts, in the context of the urgent preliminary examination by the Athens Prosecutor’s Office for the re-evaluation of the forensic reports of the two children and according to the “Peloponnese», the drafting of the conclusion will be delayedwith sources stating that at this stage the case is in the process of pathological investigation.
According to the same sources the completion of the expertise expected within June – possibly at the beginning of the month – and this is because the examination of the findings of the forensic reports of Christina Tsakonas for Malena and the head of the Forensic Medicine Service of Patras Angeliki Tsiola for Iris, is done in a very meticulous way.
However, information cited by the defense of the accused Roula Pispirigou, states that no differences are observed regarding the causes of death between the forensic reports and the review of the data by the pathologist. As it is claimed, for Malena he is diagnosed with liver failure and for Iris agenesis of a sinus node, an element that had been identified by the pathologist-associate professor of the University of Ioannina Antigoni Mitselou. In fact, the defendant’s lawyers estimate that the delay in issuing the final conclusion Karakouki – Kalogria is due to the fact that “They do not easily reach new data”.
