Reaction of the businessman to the decision to refer only Papagelopoulos – Touloupaki
The businessman even announces an appeal to the European courts with his announcement Sambi Mionisafter the decision to be referred to the Special Court the former minister Dimitris Papagelopoulos and the prosecutor Mr. Touloupaki, but to acquit the persons who he had accused of blackmail against him.
Mr. Mionis states in his announcement that the decisions must be respected and states that he is calm with his conscience, but notes that it is possible that yesterday’s decision will discourage other victims of blackmail from denouncing such behaviors.
The full text of Mr. Mionis’ announcement follows:
Good night, Kemal. This world will never change.
Judgments must be respected. I, personally, feel at peace with my conscience, having done my duty to society and my dignity.
I’m afraid, however, that yesterday ‘s decision will discourage other victims of blackmail in the future from denouncing similar blackmailing behavior, and this is undoubtedly a blow to the Republic itself.
I will continue my fight in the Greek civil courts and, if necessary, in the European ones.
As the great Nikos Gatsos wrote, “Good night, Kemal, this world will never change.” Unless we all change it together.
