The post of MEP Stelios Kymbouropoulos is not related to the event that took place yesterday afternoon at the Presidential Palace for Ukrainian refugees, the Presidency of the Republic clarifies in a statement, on the occasion of reports in the electronic press, this morning, which stated that the MEP of the ND he did not have access to the space as the entrance was via a staircase with several steps.

Specifically, the announcement of the Presidency of the Republic states the following:
“In the morning publications of the electronic press, it is stated that at an event held in the garden of the Presidential Palace on Friday afternoon in honor of the Ukrainian citizens hosted in Greece, the MEP Stelios Kymbouropoulos was unable to access the space, due to the fact that the entrance was only by a ladder with several steps.
This incident, as the MEP himself clarifies in his post, did not take place in the Presidential Palace.
The Presidency of the Republic has adopted all the necessary arrangements to ensure, both inside the Palace and in its external spaces, the full and equal accessibility of people with disabilities”.
The ND MEP, with his post this morning, highlighted his access problem at yesterday’s event as the venue had no entry provision for people with disabilities.
