The Minister of Foreign Affairs will meet with the Archbishop of Nea Justiniana and All Cyprus, Chrysostomos II. He is then expected to be received by the President of the Republic of Cyprus, Nicos Anastasiades
The Minister of Foreign Affairs will pay a visit to Cyprus, Nikos Dendiastomorrow, Thursday, July 28, according to a relevant announcement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Mr. Dendias will meet with Archbishop of Nea Justiniana and All Cyprus, Chrysostomos II. He is then expected to be received by the President of the Republic of Cyprus, Nikos Anastasiadis.
Afterwards, the Minister of Foreign Affairs will participate in the Summit of the Heads of Diplomatic Missions of Cyprus, in the context of which he will deliver a speech.
At approximately 13:00 he will have a meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Cyprus, Ioannis Kasoulidis. After the meeting, the two ministers will make joint statements to the press (around 13:20).
The discussions between the two ministers are part of the ongoing cooperation and coordination of the two countries, as stated in the ministry’s announcement. It is expected that they will focus on the developments in the Cyprus issue, in view of the upcoming new UN Security Council Decision on the renewal of UNFICYP’s mandate, the situation in the Eastern Mediterranean, EU issues and the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
Finally, during his stay in Nicosia, Mr. Dendias will also have separate meetings, successively, with the candidates for the presidential office of the Republic of Cyprus, Averof Neophytou (DISY), Andreas Mavroyianni (AKEL) and Nikos Christodoulidis (DIKO , EDEK).
