Romanos: Poor concerted effort at distortion

by

The director of the Press Office of New Democracy, Nikos Romanos, made his statement.

“The wretched concerted effort to distort what I said more than 30 hours late is indicative of who wants to drag the political dialogue on an important issue into the mud,” says the director of the New Democracy Press Office, Nikos Romanos, in a statement.

He points out in detail: “Initially they said that I made statements on a station that I never appeared on. Then they made a fake transcript by putting words in my mouth that I never said. You see, in this particular case, even cutting and sewing was not enough to set up the fake story.

I said the self-evident thing we’ve been saying in all tones since Friday. That the legal hearing of the EYP by order of the competent prosecutor’s office concerns (by definition) sensitive data (since it is done only for reasons of national interest) and Mr. Androulakis himself will be informed in detail about this. This is why the government tried from the first moment to contact him and for this he will be informed by the new EYP commander. So the corresponding answers that Mr. Androulakis is publicly asking for, will only be able to be given by him! I never talked about “personal data” even though it was in the fake transcript that laid the ground for the coordinated attack against me. I never implied that I knew anything more about the case. Of course I reserve all my legal rights against all those who distorted, orchestrated and reproduced the fake news and the vile attack against me.”
