In the ranks of the majority, they believe that the political environment has not been affected, while they have a different perspective on SYRIZA, who see that the road to the deterioration of the ruling faction is one of no return.

It will change case of follow-ups the political scene? Are reversals expected in relation to the government’s clear supremacy? How many “points” will the directly involved PASOK get upon its completion Commission of Inquiry; These questions are lingering in the staffs of the three parties, however it is a fact that it is still too early to draw conclusions.

They gave a first taste of the weekend that passed so the poll of GPO for “THE NEWS” as well as of Marc for “Proto Thema”. In the first, the difference between ND and SYRIZA was 6.3% (8.9% on July 2) and in the second the gap did not close much and was maintained at 8.5 points (9.2% on July 20). In both surveys, PASOK “stings” one and a half points respectively. It is a fact that the August polls are greeted with reservations by the parties. In order to have a complete picture of whether the connections affected the electorate, the developments should run, the Inquiry Committee should be set up and start its work, while the presence of the political leaders in the TIF will be a catalyst. September 10-11 the prime minister will open the exhibition in Thessaloniki presenting the government program and the “basket” ahead of the new year. On September 17-18, Alexis Tsipras will visit the city and in between the other presidents of the parliamentary parties. The measurements, which will be carried out towards the end of next month, will capture exactly the scene in which the parties will campaign.

In the ranks of the majority they appreciate that the political environment has not been affected despite the efforts of the entire opposition. The Prime Minister’s institutional profile will not be affected, as he agreed from the beginning with the recommendation of the Inquiry, responded to the Parliament on the adjournment requested by Alexis Tsipras and at the same time remained faithful to his position of holding elections at the end of the four years. The ND continues to move with the main goal of self-reliance and the presence of the Prime Minister in Thessaloniki is estimated to be a catalyst. Giorgos Gerapetritis, speaking on SKAI radio, recalled that the special parliamentary control procedure that allows the minority to set up a Commission of Inquiry was a Constitutional initiative of the current government.

They have a different perspective on SYRIZA who see that the road to deterioration of the ruling party it is non-refundable. The issue of surveillance, which links it to the Republic and the Rule of Law in the country, they believe will be a fuse for developments and changes in the geographical political map. It will not be cut off from the rest of the news, but it will squeeze the government along with the accuracy and the difficult winter ahead. They argue, after all, that if there are other revelations, the majority will not be able to bear the heavy political burden.

PASOK has found itself at the center of the developments and they are expected to take advantage of this raising the tone. The party’s slight downward trend in polls seems to be reversing, but their gaze is also on the side of SYRIZA. In other words, which of the two will succeed in reaping the damage they expect ND to have.

Electoral law

Once again the conversation opened about her change of the electoral law, as it seems that in the ranks of the ND the debates are heating up. There are quite a few blue executives who want her bonus reset of the 50 seats that lowers the bar of self-reliance despite the assurances of the prime minister that he is not thinking of making changes.

His report was indicative Maximos Charakopoulos on the Parliament channel: “to revisit the issue of the electoral law and possibly return to the bonus of 50 seats that the previous law gave to the first party, in order to form an independent government because the last thing the country needs is instability.” In fact, the member of the ND added that he has been receiving this climate while discussing with his colleagues recently “after the latest developments and the attitude of the third party which does not work in the direction of building consensus and understanding in order to deal with the major problems and the national challenges that the country has”. There is no doubt that the equation for the re-election of ND MPs – as the first party – becomes more difficult with the staggered bonus. THE Dora Bakoyannis stated on SKAI television that “electoral law with a bonus of 50 seats gives greater stability possibilities. A reality that is discussed in all parliamentary and journalistic wells”. The ND member of parliament added that “Kyriakos Mitsotakis is a man who is hard to pressure, hard to take back what he says. It’s his decision.”

The majority in the government camp believes that the Kyriakos Mitsotakis he will stay true to his commitment. “We are moving forward for the 2023 elections with the institutional framework that exists at the moment”, was his reply Yannis Economou while updating political editors on the new scenarios being circulated.
