He expressed his intention to announce by tomorrow the candidate for president of the Movement for Change who will support in the second round of the KINAL internal party elections, Andreas Loverdos speaking on SKAI TV and the show “Today”.
He added that he is a position politician who never hid and that is why he will take a stand now, announcing whether he will vote for Nikos Androulakis or George Papandreou next Sunday. Before making any announcements, he will speak with his associates, MPs and non-MPs, as he said he respects those who framed him.
Mr. Loverdos, who was left out of the succession race at KINAL yesterday, stressed that the main message sent by the polls is the renewal. Regarding the high turnout in the elections, he stressed that they are a political issue, as it proves that the party is present. He even spoke of an opportunity not to be missed.
He thanked the tens of thousands who voted for him, saying that he would continue and that he would not abandon them. As he said in the battle of ideas in relation to PASOK, he won his name, his identity but also the expectation for a doubling of forces, however he lost at the ballot box.
Asked if Mr. Androulakis should resign as an MEP, Mr. Loverdos said that he could not answer on his behalf and that it would be “a bit provocative” to say something against him. “Ask him. “I can not do that,” he told reporters.
