The government spokesman emphasized that without blowing up the economy, the government is looking at ways to support citizens with ideas beyond the ordinary.
An increase in the heating allowance and the expansion of its grant perimeter, announced the government representative Yiannis Oikonomou speaking on SKAI TV and the Kalimera show by Giorgos Autias. At the same time, he confirmed that a plan for cheaper transportation is being considered and that the relevant ministries are working on ideas beyond the usual to support citizens.
“In terms of electricity, we have horizontal measures, in terms of fuel, Fuel Pass 2 is running, we will see in which ways (…) we will deal with the problems there as well, in terms of the heating allowance, every year (…) we have more money and an expanded perimeter and this year will be no different. We have proven that we understand the demands and needs of the world and respond to it”said Mr. Economou.
He assured that the energy precision measures will be continuous for as long as the crisis lasts, which he likened to the pandemic, as he said it is exogenous, causes financial problems and requires financial support from citizens.
To the question of whether a “German” plan to reduce the price of tickets for the media is on the table, Mr. Economou replied that the specific measure is also one of those that the government is considering, which does not stop at the findings or the usual moves.
Mr. Economou stated that the measure in question concerns the daily life of citizens, movement, saving resources and energy from vehicles. “The competent ministries will make use of every possibility that exists,” he added.
“In every aspect of people’s economic life, whether it concerns electricity consumption, whether it concerns dealing with economic pressures in everyday life, in the supermarket, in its markets, whether it concerns its heating (…) being fully aware of the problems, the government every possibility that exists with caution so as not to blow up the economy,” emphasized the government representative.
