With a large majority, and with the support of the three largest parties, ND, SYRIZA and PASOK-KINAL, the protocol for the accession of Sweden and Finland to the North Atlantic Alliance was ratified on Thursday by the Plenary Session of the Parliament.
The remaining opposition parties, KKE, Hellenic Solution and MeRA25 voted against the agreement.
A message was written in Greek by the Swedish ambassador in Athens, JBorgstam, who attended the Parliament and was photographed with the Greek Minister of Foreign Affairs, Nikos Dendias.

“Thank you Greece! With a strong majority, the Greek parliament voted today in favor of validating Sweden’s accession to NATO. Swedish Ambassador JBorgstam and Foreign Minister Nikos Dendias celebrated the happy occasion” commented the Swedish embassy in Athens.
