ND circles regarding some publications referring to the verbal episode that occurred at yesterday’s meeting of the Investigative Committee between SYRIZA rapporteur Dimitris Tzanakopoulos and ND MP Konstantinos Kyranakis, denied that there was a “fight between the two MPs” as it is attributed.
According to information from the same sources, it is clarified that the President of the Examining Committee, Yiannis Kefalogiannis, “never asked Mr. Kyranakis or any other member of the committee to leave.”
What happened is the fact that during the examination of Mr. Demiris by D. Tzanakopoulos, several ND MPs emphasized that it is not meant for SYRIZA MPs to constantly make arbitrary judgments of opinions and that “we are here to examine facts and real facts”.
This happened, according to ND circles, because Mr. Tzanakopoulos allegedly attributed to Mr. Demiris the opinion that “the Commander of the EYP is above the Constitution” something that Mr. Demiris never stated or implied.
Then, according to the same sources, and when the SYRIZA MP threatened Mr. Kyranakis off the microphone, the New Democracy MP requested that these threats be recorded in the minutes as they violate parliamentary ethics, while the meeting continued normally with everything its members after a five-minute break.
