by

“This is the period for which there have been public reports of surveillance of the current Prime Minister, Mr. Kyriakos Mitsotakis,” says the ruling party

In a publication of the newspaper Ta Nea on surveillance in Greece during the SYRIZA-ANEL government, the ND is mentioned on Saturday. According to the publication, in a laboratory report Citizen Lab of the University of Toronto noted that the spyware Pegasus it was also used in our country in the period 2016-2019 during the SYRIZA-ANEL government.

“”Ta Nea” today reveals a Citizen Lab report which records data on the use of the Pegasus malware in Greece since 2016, as well as discussions of the EYP, then, to obtain the specific software. This is the malware that is being investigated at the European level as it has been detected in a number of countries. And it is the period for which there have been public reports of surveillance of the current Prime Minister, Mr. Kyriakos Mitsotakis,” it is emphasized.

After today’s revelation, says the ruling party, we have to ask the following questions:

1. Did Mr. Tsipras know about Pegasus and its operation in Greece?
2. Had he been informed by Mr. Rubatis about this Citizel Lab report? If he was informed, what actions did he take?
3. Did ADAE carry out checks and if so, did they end up anywhere?

“We await with interest the answers of Mr. Tsipras” concludes Piraeus.
