Continuity on the subject of monitoring is given by his announcement SYRIZArequesting its immediate convening Institutions Committee.
The announcement in more detail:
“Immediately after the revelations about the monitoring of the phone of Christos Spirtzis and the possible destruction of the EYP files Androulakis and Koukakis, the President of SYRIZA-PS Alexis Tsipras requested the immediate convening of the Institutions and Transparency Committee. With brutality and cynicism, New Democracy rejected the request, in the context of the general attempt to cover up the case.
THE Alexis Tsipras denounced this parliamentary coup, stating that “Mr. Mitsotakis blocks the convening of the institutions committee, because he is afraid of the New Democracy MPs. Anything that refers to institutions and transparency causes him allergy and fear.”
In response to the cover-up attempt, all opposition parties request the convening of the Committee, making use of article 41A par. 4 of the Rules of Procedure of the Parliament which states that it is mandatory, if requested by two-fifths (2/5) of its members committee. SYRIZA-PS, KKE and PASOK-KINAL have already submitted relevant letters, while both other opposition parties have stated that they will also submit a similar request.
As Alexis Tsipras had stated, no matter how many files Mr. Mitsotakis, no matter how many parliamentary coups he sets up, nothing will remain hidden. It just confirms his guilt. And he will not escape his responsibilities in the end.”
