The prime minister, in the presence of Ursula von der Leyen, reiterated that state budgets cannot alone bear the burden of energy precision and expressed the hope that a European solution would be found quickly, which would help all member states.

The IGB pipeline is not a simple pipeline, it connects European countries that share the principles of solidarity and cooperation, emphasized the Prime Minister, Kyriakos Mitsotakis, speaking at the opening ceremony of the commercial operation of the Greece-Bulgaria gas pipeline directorate in Sofia.

The pipeline will bring natural gas from Azerbaijan to Bulgaria and, with the help of other infrastructure projects underway, will contribute to the creation of a reliable natural gas distribution network, the prime minister said.

He added that the pipeline will not only serve Greece and Bulgaria but also many other countries in the region, “which share the principles of solidarity and cooperation” as he said.

The prime minister, in the presence of its head European Commission, Ursula von der Leyenreiterated that state budgets cannot alone bear the burden of energy precision and expressed the hope that a European solution would be quickly found, as in the case of the pandemic, that would help all member states.
