Confrontation between the president of the PEGA Commission and the head of the Eurogroup of SYRIZA

By Antonis Anzoletou

The online confrontation that broke out between the president of the PEGA Committee of the European Parliament is culminating, Old Lenners and the head of the Eurogroup of SYRIZA, Dimitris Papadimoulis on the case of surveillance.

The vice-president of the European Parliament, with his post on twitter, said that the Commission will come to Greece on the issue of monitoring November 3-4 asking to see, among others, the Prime Minister, Kyriakos Mitsotakis, Grigoris Dimitriadis, Christos Spirtzisand businessmen etc Giannis Lavranos and Felix Biggio. In fact, Mr. Papadimoulis wrote that there was also unanimous approval from the EP Bureau.

The chairman of the PEGA Commission, Jeroen Lenners, downvote the post and as he pointed out the decision presented by Mr. Papadimoulis has not been approved “unanimously by the Bureau of the European Parliament”, it is nothing more than “a very early draft agenda for internal use, which was not even communicated to the political groups or other interlocutors ».

Dimitris Papadimoulis responded by posting on twitter the entire program of the Commission’s visits to Greece and Cyprus from November 1-4, which included the aforementioned persons.

Mr. Lehners in his post had also noted that “its a shame that a vice-president of the European Parliament shares such an internal draft document for domestic political purposes. We have not even approached potential representatives of the Greek government to meet with us during our mission and now that this has been leaked, we will re-evaluate how we proceed with this mission,” he added.

Shame on you Mr. Jeroen Lenners it’s the lies and the cover-up. Not the truth! The program of the visit to Athens for the wiretapping was prepared by you and the coordinators of PEGA. You sent it to the Bureau of the EC for approval of the shipment. Everything in the light” answered Mr. Papadimoulis.

The chairman of the PEGA Committee continued by asking Dimitris Papadimoulis to delete his post “Go ahead, Mr. Papadimoulis. Check with your political group coordinator if this program has ever been prepared or approved by PEGA coordinators. If you are committed to truth and light, I have no doubt how you will delete your tweet and you will apologize, without delay.”

An announcement was issued a while ago by Anna Michelle Asimakopoulou, press representative of the ND Eurogroup: “The MEP of SYRIZA, Mr. Papadimoulis, continues the campaign of disinformation and distortion of the truth of his party. Yesterday, he went so far as to leak on social media, an internal document of the PEGA Commission being processed, with the aim of obtaining petty political benefits for himself and his party. All he managed to do was to be categorically denied and then publicly condemned by the President of the Commission, Mr. Jeroen Lenaers. For the umpteenth time, the fake news of Mr. Papadimoulis, which aims to expose our country internationally, primarily exposes him who, unfortunately, is unable to understand his institutional role, as Vice-President of the European Parliament”.
