The incendiary rhetoric from Ankara is leading the other parties to draw a patriotic red line against Tayyip Erdogan, while at the same time criticizing the government.

The instrumentalization of the refugee, the activation of the Turkish-Libyan memorandum and the extreme rhetoric with the war instructions of Hulusi Akar to the Turkish navy and air force are in store for a warm autumn with the neighbors.
At the same time, however, it largely changes the pre-election agenda. And it may be that no government wants an “accident” to happen during its time in power, however it is a fact that national issues rally citizens around the “flag”.
Kyriakos Mitsotakis participates in the regular and extraordinary Summits – such as the one in Prague – and constantly raises the issue of Turkish provocation to the partners. He is strengthening his profile by guiding national issues at a time when, anyway, in the opinion polls that have been conducted so far, in questions about foreign policy, he outperforms Alexis Tsipras.
THE inflammatory rhetoric from Ankara it leads the other parties to draw a patriotic red line against Tayyip Erdogan, while at the same time criticizing the government for its handling from 2019 to the present. It has never been observed that national issues remain outside the field of political confrontation.
How thin are the lines?
A mishandling by the respective government that gives some advantage to the “angry neighbor” will hardly be forgiven and forgotten until the polls. At the same time, however, a subversive attitude towards the national interests by the opposition will cost significantly those who choose not to act based on the national interest.
Alexis Tsipras constantly uses his status as former prime minister to intervene. He met once again at the Eurosocialist conference in Prague and asked the E.U. to take a clear stance and position in favor of the sovereign rights of Greece.
Nikos Androulakis constantly recalls the initiative he had taken as an MEP to request an embargo on the sale of arms to Turkey due to its aggressive behavior. Epimythio: The opposition is always trying to make up for lost ground from a government’s advantage of managing national crises.
The European energy problem and the precision in the Old Epirus are coming to add and change even more the terms of the pre-election game in Greece. Ursula von der Leyen’s attempt to “bridge” the differences between the “27” and the double ceiling on natural gas and oil will create new balances.
Everyone is waiting for the reactions of the “bad” Germans and Austrians who want financial tools only for themselves and have so far disagreed with the imposition of a temporary ceiling on gas prices. If the E.U. manages to offer its citizens a more painless winter, surely the New Democracy government will go to the spring elections with an advantage. The entire opposition should look to find new cracks in the government’s narrative.
This does not mean that the polls have been decided. Especially since simple proportionality opens the door for second elections. The special audiences that the parties are addressing weigh their votes based on their own needs and this is an outlet for bitter opposition. Everyday life plays a primary role in a pre-election period and precedes the initiatives of the EU, which always moves slowly. The blue faction lags behind young people, losing to this audience even in the 2019 elections.
Initiatives such as the housing program, as well as the reforms in the OAED, inaugurate a new relationship with them. It is the reason, after all, that SYRIZA does not leave even the most radical reason that touches these ages.
A typical example is the university police, where the ideological gap between the two contenders for power remains very large. SYRIZA came second in the previous polls losing the middle class which it overtaxed.
The attempt to re-approach it became evident from the presence of Alexis Tsipras at the TIF, with SYRIZA insisting on measures such as the reduction of the VAT on fuel and the reduction of VAT on food.
The other social group he is falling far short of and catching up with are pensioners who the official opposition leader met with this week promising to restore the 13th pension and retroactives in three instalments.
