Parliament: Sakorafa expelled Polakis from the Plenary – “Unacceptable behavior for a member of parliament”

by

It all started with the tension between the SYRIZA MP and Adonis Georgiadis

They had an intense debate, which ended in… expulsion, on Thursday at Plenary session the vice president of the Parliament Sophia Sakorafa and the SYRIZA MP Pavlos Polakis.

The vice-president of the Parliament tried to reason with the SYRIZA MP, but he would not budge, as a result of which Mrs. Sakorafa asked them to leave the room.

It all started with the disagreements Mr. Polakis had with Adonis Georgiadis’s answers on the Maraveyas case.

“Mr. Maraveyas, instead of finding a hole to hide, had the audacity to call me irrelevant and ignorant. Is the announcement photographic or not? I didn’t say illegal in general, I said it was photographic”emphasized Pavlos Polakis, for Mr. Georgiadis to answer him:

“The inclusion of someone in the final list is not the last step of the approval, but a gazette publication is also required.”

Then Mr. Polakis started shouting and interrupting Mr. Georgiadis, who reacted, saying: “I can’t do this delirium in the Parliament. It is an issue that Mr. Polakis does not know. Today, as we speak, it has not been approved yet.”

And the following dialogue followed:

– Polakis: “It works for us…”

There, Mrs. Sakorafa reacted, who called Mr. Polakis and requested the intervention of the guard.

-Sakorafa: “Mr colleague, the hall is not a cafe, you have made the Parliament a cafe, here we are”.

– Polakis: “Well, we’re working now.”

– Sakorafa: “Mr. Polakis, please. Can you get Mr. Colleague out? From the hall?”

– Polakis: “No, they can’t.”

– Sakorafa: “They can. Your behavior is unacceptable for a Member of Parliament. You are obliged to listen to him as everyone listens to you in the way you speak.”

– Polakis: “Don’t lift a finger.”

– Sakorafa: “I’m not lifting a finger. Where do you think you are? You are in parliament, not in your village cafe. I’m begging you”.
