“All Greek citizens have the right to the same opportunities” stressed the prime minister – “Tackling demographic aging is a national priority”

On Tuesday, the Prime Minister spoke about a government policy of equal opportunities for all Greek citizens Kyriakos Mitsotakis in his speech at the event for the presentation of the Special Development Plan for the Municipalities of Agrafon Evrytania, Limni Plastira Karditsa and Argithea Karditsa. “With this government and with me Prime Minister there are no two-speed citizens. All Greek citizens have the right to the same opportunities for promotion and must enjoy the same welfare of the welfare state,” he noted.

The treatment of demographic aging is a national priority he also underlined. “It is a development plan with a vision for the next day. So that we can put into practice what is a national priority for me. And this is to reverse the demographic aging in the mountainous areas of our country” he said characteristically.

“They have to get new guys back. The new children born here must have a reason to stay and live and work in this beautiful and blessed place. In order to do this, there must obviously be the appropriate infrastructure, but there must be conditions for development”, noted Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis during his speech.

“We didn’t design this program for you, you designed it for you. So the projects that you indicated to us were studied, discussed, evaluated, prioritized and are part of a coherent plan that emphasizes on the one hand infrastructure, with most resources directed there, with a special emphasis on the road network, the development perspective and of course the structures social support which are so important, especially if one takes into account the special characteristics of the population in Argithea, Lake Plastira and Agrafa”, emphasized the Prime Minister.

“I have made a commitment and I think this is something that primarily concerns our fellow citizens who may sometimes feel that they are forgotten by the state and by the central authority, that with this government and with me as Prime Minister there are no citizens two speed. All Greek citizens have the right to the same opportunities for promotion and must enjoy the same welfare state, regardless of whether they are in Athens or in the most remote village of Argithea”underlined Kyriakos Mitsotakis.

“With this development program, we seek to highlight Agrafa as a place of residence and an important destination, the preservation and promotion of the natural and cultural wealth, the development of the productive fabric, the containment and even the increase of the population. We plan to provide health, education, welfare and other services, similar to other regions of Greece”, stated the Deputy Minister of Development and Investments, Yiannis Tsakiris.

“The way we have learned to work is to say less words and do more projects. But that is something you will judge at the end of the day. Our intention is to have a comprehensive plan. It is not enough to restore the damages from natural disasters, nor is it enough to restore them even better by accompanying them with some additional projects. We must give it an integrated character, enable the area to be revitalized, give the area and its residents a perspective and, if possible, attract even more new residents”, noted the General Secretary of Public Investments and NSRF Dimitris Skalkos, who he was also the coordinator of the event.
