“The challenges we face are unprecedented. I informed my interlocutors about the contacts I had in Cairo, London, Valletta, for the Council of Foreign Affairs in Luxembourg” pointed out Nikos Dendias

The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Nikos Dendias, had meetings with the representatives of the parliamentary parties today, Tuesday, as part of the briefing of the representatives of the parliamentary parties on foreign policy issues, and as he informed, he will go to Kyiv.

After the end of the meetings he said:

“In these meetings I always refer to the need for national consensus on the issues concerning our foreign policy. In fact, today more than ever because of the current tension, this consent is necessary. The challenges we face are unprecedented. I informed my interlocutors about the contacts I had in Cairo, London, Valletta, for the Foreign Affairs Council in Luxembourg. I met with my counterparts, I informed them as I also informed the Council about the recent memorandum between the government of Tripoli and Turkey. I think it is absolutely positive that beyond the statements made there was a clear understanding of the Greek positions. Greek positions based on a solid foundation. International legality, the International Law of the Sea. And, of course, positions that serve stability and security in the Mediterranean,” said the Foreign Minister.

“I also had the opportunity to highlight the example between Israel and Lebanon and the recent agreement reached between them on their maritime zones. An agreement that strengthens the Greek narrative, as it has symbolic importance for the entire region, regarding the Greek-Turkish dispute. I always emphasize that this dispute can be well resolved within the framework of International Law and the International Law of the Sea. Nevertheless Turkey does not tend to heed these invitations. Prefers delinquent behavior. And I want to make it clear that we we will continue to highlight and highlight this offending behavior” emphasized Mr. Dendias.

“From there on I informed my interlocutors and for my move to Kyiv. It will be the my third visit to Ukraine during the war. The first two were in Odessa. A city with enormous symbolic importance for Hellenism. My visit to Ukraine, in addition to deepening bilateral relations, also has an element of intense symbolism. The fact that the Greek government, the Greek society, the Greek people as a whole, stand by the countries whose national independence and national sovereignty are threatened. I have repeatedly said that International Law, the Charter of the United Nations is gospel for Greek foreign policy. I will repeat this in Kyiv” concluded Nikos Dendias.
