Let Justice stand rise to the occasion and the political system to protect its dignity, SYRIZA asks, after the publication of the Documento newspaper about surveillance of politicians, businessmen and journalists.
In particular, in a statement issued by SYRIZA, it states:
Everything that comes to light from the newspaper Documento gives rise to deep reflection, sadness and disgust in every democratic citizen regardless of party preference.
These are critical hours for democracy and justice.
For citizens’ trust in institutions and the political system.
What a guilty prime minister now claims is of little consequence.
What matters is if justice ultimately rises to the occasion and especially if the political system ultimately protects its basic dignity as well as democracy.
