“Our borders are inaccessible, our executives are extremely alert, with a uniquely high sense of duty and dedication! Our country is shielding itself, it remains strong and a protagonist, a pillar of stability in the region. We don’t stop, we keep going.” This was emphasized by the Deputy Minister of National Defense, Nikos Hardalias, who yesterday and today was in Evros, where he visited formations, surveillance posts and observation posts of the Army, in the area of ​​responsibility of the 4th Army Corps.

Today, as announced, N. Hardalias, accompanied by the commanders of the 1st Army Lieutenant General Angelos Houdeloudis and the Fourth Army Corps Lieutenant General Ioannis Tsioplo, moved by road along the Greek-Turkish land border in the areas of responsibility of the XII and XVI Mechanized Infantry Divisions and he visited the bridge that connects Greece with Turkey, the surveillance posts “Gardens”, “126”, “Dilofou”, “Pythia Bridge” and the “Green Gate” observatory, where, among other things, he inspected the deterrent barrier and the new electrification project .

He also went to the headquarters of the XVI Mechanized Infantry Division in Didymoteicho where he was informed about the current activities of the formation and to the headquarters of the Unified Control Center – Border Surveillance in Nea Vyssa Orestiada, where he was informed about the actions, procedures and means of surveillance of our borders .

Yesterday, the Deputy Minister of National Defense held a working meeting with the commanders of the 1st Army Lieutenant General Angelos Houdeloudis, the Fourth Army Corps Lieutenant General Ioannis Tsioplo and the subordinate formations of the Fourth Army Corps, in Alexandroupoli.

Also, N. Hardalias, during his stay in Evros, met with the mayors of Alexandroupolis Ioannis Zamboukis and Didymoteichos Romylos Hatzigiannoglou.
