Androulakis: Truth and transparency are what those who operate against the Republic have to fear

by

“A lot of light must be shed, Justice must do its job and we will finally learn the whole truth. We have nothing to fear from the truth and transparency”, said the president of PASOK – Movement for Change, Nikos Androulakis, among others.

“I believe that the best path is the path of institutions and Justice. That is why, as I went directly to the Supreme Court and filed a petition, anyone who believes that there is such a fraudulent practice of a parastatal mechanism against him, must follow the path of Justice”, said the president of PASOK – Movement for Change Nikos Androulakisspeaking to Ertnews and the show “It Happens in Europe”.

Mr. Androulakis pointed out that “of course, I want to say, to be completely honest, that three months is a long time and justice must also rise to the occasion. Let’s find out what actions have been taken, what witnesses have been called, what the result is.”

He also criticized the government, speaking of the Prime Minister’s enormous responsibilities in the wiretapping issue, stressing: “Certainly the government feels that it is weak. Mr. Mitsotakis personally bears huge responsibilities for how Maximos operated throughout this period and which are revealed by the protection around Ms. Vlachou, the commander of the EYP, Mr. Dimitriadis and those who apparently have relation to the predaror in Greece and I mean Mr. Lavranos and Mr. Biggio. We asked, as the opposition, for them to come to the commission of inquiry and the governing majority basically did not allow it.”

“And the competent investigative committee of the European Parliament asked to see these persons as well as some government officials. No one from the government went, only Mr. Gerapetritis went,” added Mr. Androulakis.

“What I want to say in conclusion is that no shadows should fall on political life. Our Republic must be a strong European Republic. Not for the New Democracy government to expose the country internationally by wanting to cover up with a second scandal, the wiretapping scandal. That’s why a lot of light should be shed, the Justice should do its job and we should finally know the whole truth. We have nothing to fear from truth and transparency. Truth and transparency should be feared by those who operate at the expense of democracy and at the expense of our country in general”, concluded the president of PASOK – Movement for Change.
