The Prosecutor requests the removal of the MP’s immunity, as he considers that there are sufficient indications to prosecute Mr. Patsis for the offenses related to incomplete and inaccurate “Nowhere related” statements after the year 2019

A request in order to be granted permission by the Parliament to bring criminal proceedings against the independent MP Andreas Patsis was submitted by the Prosecutor of Appeals Charalambos Tzonis, who is responsible for the matters of “pothen esches” declarations.

The public prosecutor who studied the financial data that was forwarded to the Public Prosecutor’s Office by the House of Commons Committee, considers that Mr. Patsis should be prosecuted for misdemeanor offenses related to the declarations of assets submitted by the member of parliament previous years.

Thus, the Prosecutor requests the removal of the MP’s immunity, as he considers that there are sufficient indications to prosecute Mr. Patsis for the offenses related to incomplete and inaccurate “Nowhere related” statements after the year 2019.

The file of the case file will be forwarded through the Prosecutor’s Office of the Supreme Court to the Parliament, which will decide whether the parliamentary immunity of Mr. Patsis will be lifted, so that the Prosecutor can proceed with the criminal prosecution against him.
