Greece has proven that it can resolve such outstanding issues in line with international law, Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis said.
“Progress has been recorded on the EEZ delimitation issue and I believe that we are approaching the time when we will sign the relevant co-promissory note to refer the matter to the international court in The Hague” said the Prime Minister coming to the EU-Western Balkans summit in Tirana.
Kyriakos Mitsotakis insisted that Greece has proven that it can resolve such outstanding issues based on international law and as he said this is what we will seek to do in this case as well.
At the same time, he expressed his regret, because as he said, due to the weather forecasts, he will not be able to visit the areas where the members of the Greek minority live.
“We will make this visit as soon as possible. I want to visit our expatriates,” said the prime minister.
Regarding the prospect of the integration of the Western Balkan states into the European Union, Mr. Mitsotakis expressed his satisfaction because, as he said, for the first time such a Summit is being hosted in a candidate country, while he recalled that the whole process started in Thessaloniki in 2003.
“Greece continues to support the European perspective of the Western Balkans” noted the prime minister, while regarding our bilateral relations with Albania, Mr. Mitsotakis pointed out that our will is to put our bilateral relations on a path of even greater rapprochement .
