The Libyan Ministry of Foreign Affairs states that after confirming the information about the start of investigations by the Sanco Swift vessel, it will “proceed to defend Libya’s maritime borders and sovereign rights”
The Libyan Ministry of Foreign Affairs expresses its displeasure with an official announcement regarding the search for hydrocarbons south and southwest of Crete, accusing Greece of exploiting the Libyan crisis.
In his announcement, he argues that at a time when the Mediterranean should “be a sea of peace and development”, Greece is trying to “take advantage of the Libyan crisis and forcefully impose the demarcation of the maritime borders between the two countries by concluding hydrocarbon research contracts south and south-west of Crete in an area disputed between us”.
The Libyan Ministry of Foreign Affairs states that after confirming information about the launch of investigations by the Sanco Swift vessel on behalf of foreign companies that signed contracts with Greece, it will “proceed to defend Libya’s maritime borders and sovereign rights in its maritime areas with all strong legal and diplomatic means”.
