During it, “among other issues related to security and stability in the Southeast Mediterranean were discussed, including the decree issued yesterday by the president of Egypt Al-Sisi”, according to a related post by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Twitter.

THE Abdel Fattah al-Sisi signed a presidential decree yesterday declaring the maritime limits of Egyptian maritime zones to the Libyan side, according to the MENA agency.

The decision, which completely ignores the Turkish-Libyan pact, was published in the Government Gazette. According to it the territorial waters of Egypt start from the land point on the Egypt-Libya border at point 1 and for a distance of 12 nautical miles reaching up to point 8 to the north. This particular line moves and stops south of the middle line between Crete and Egypt.
