Spyrakis to SKAI: I have requested the suspension of party status – I do not want ND to suffer because of me

by

As Ms. Spyraki explained, the case concerns her partner and specifically the receipt of the foreigner’s allowance by him

From the moment the request was made, I immediately asked for the lifting of my immunity to proceed immediately, in order to prove that I do not have any kind of involvement or involvement in corruption and I do not have any kind of difference with the European Parliament, not even one euro” he said speaking to SKAI the ND MEP Maria Spyrakis.

It is recalled that yesterday the European General Prosecutor requested the lifting her immunity. As Ms. Spyraki explained, the case concerns her partner, specifically the receiving of the foreigner’s allowance, “which, however, seems not to have corresponded to his presence in Brussels and Strasbourg,” she said.

When asked about the amount of money received by her partner, she said: “If you consider that in three years this man received 21,000 euros and he has obviously been there many times, it is an amount that he will be asked to prove how much this is. I don’t know how many proofs he has.”

Asked to explain what happened, she said that “the partner had a major problem and asked me for a piece of verbal permission, from there you understand that it was not in my absolute control. The prosecutor requests the lifting of my immunity, because I have the responsibility of my partner and of the proper execution of the budget assigned to me.”

She added: “In any case, I want to announce that I have informed since yesterday and today Mr. Marinakis has received the relevant letter in which I request the suspension of my party status until the case is clarified. I don’t want ND to get involved in an issue that concerns me.

» As soon as I am checked, I will list all the details. I will not give anyone the opportunity to use my face as an excuse to throw mud at the SW. I will not allow SYRIZA to take a mud bath with ND”.

Finally, when asked if there is any chance of her resigning, she answered “no, by God”.

The prime minister called the case serious yesterdayKyriakos Mitsotakis, saying that he will be informed as soon as he returns to Athens from Brussels.

Asked about this by a journalist, the prime minister replied: “This is a very serious matter. I don’t have the full picture right now. I will return to Athens, study the matter and answer.”
