Spyraki: Deposited 21,240 euros to the European Parliament for the fees illegally received by her partner

Her post comes in the wake of revelations about pay that have prompted calls for her immunity to be lifted.

In particular, Maria Spyrakis calls on her partner, who received the foreigner’s allowance of 21,240 euros, to fully assume his responsibility, financial and administrative, and makes it clear that if he does not respond, she will exercise all her legal rights. At the same time, she points out that she deposited the amount of 21,240 euros in the European Parliament, so that there is no difference between the budget of my office and the European Parliament for the period 2016-2020, with a denial of her responsibility and a written declaration of reservation for every legal right. .

She also states that she has sent an out-of-court invitation to her former partner and that she is at the disposal of the authorities for a rapid and complete investigation of the case.

In particular, she states in her post on Instagram:

“Yesterday, with a denial of my responsibility and a written declaration of reservation for all my legal rights, I deposited the amount of 21,240 euros to the European Parliament, so that there is no difference between the budget of my office and the European Parliament for the period 2016-2020.

A: The amount of 21,240 euros was received by my former partner as a foreigner’s allowance in his bank account in the period 2016-2020. According to the data held by the European Parliament, my former colleague was present at meetings and negotiations during the period in question. However, it is his responsibility to document the exact time of his presence at the meeting places of the European Parliament, i.e. in Brussels and Strasbourg.

B: I have also sent an extrajudicial summons to my former partner, who received the foreigner’s allowance in question, asking him to take full responsibility, financial and administrative. If he does not respond, I will exercise all my legal rights.

C: I am at the disposal of the authorities for the rapid and complete investigation of the case.

PS: I gave my ex-partner verbal permission during the time his father was hospitalized, shortly after his mother’s death, while he was dealing with a serious personal problem at the same time. I hope you didn’t abuse my trust. If it proves otherwise, he must take his responsibilities.
