Dendia’s message to Turkey after the agreement with Albania on Bayraktar

“Not to allow revisionist forces to try to destabilize the region”

A clear message for her Turkey’s agreement with Albania, which will buy Bayraktar drones sent the Foreign Minister Nikos Dendias, in the meeting he had today with his Albanian counterpart, Olta Chaska.

Mr. Dendias emphasized that “we must work to not allow revisionist forces to try to destabilize the region as these are forces whose ultimate goal is not cooperation but to exert influence in the region”.

Mr. Dendias’ report comes a day before Kyriakos Mitsotakis’ planned visit on Thursday to the minority villages of northern Epirus, Dervitsani, Livadia and Himara – especially the latter will be the first visit by a Greek prime minister.

With regard to the delimitation of the EEZ, Mr. Dendias spoke of an identification of views with his Albanian counterpart for “accelerating the dialogue on the basis of the existing political agreement on the principle that we concluded two years ago so that the two sides reach a compromise that will allow us to file a co-signatory in The Hague for the delimitation of the EEZ and continental shelf”.

The Greek Minister of Foreign Affairs will sit at a lunch hosted by the Prime Minister of Albania, Edi Rama, while during his stay in Tirana, the Minister of Foreign Affairs will visit the Arsakeio Greek-Albanian College, as well as the Albanian-American school “Protagonides”, which operates under the “Breath of Love” foundation of the Orthodox Autocephalous Church of Albania.
