The former MEP has a key role – It is possible that in the coming days the Belgian authorities will call Eva Kaili again for additional testimony
All eyes are on the first testimony of Pierre Antonio Pancheri as the former MEP is the man who holds in his hands the fate of Eva Kaili who, after yesterday’s decision by the Federal Prosecutor of Belgium, will remain in prison for at least another month.
Pancheri has a “key” role and is the man who will apparently judge Eva Kaili’s criminal treatment. According to SKAI’s correspondent in Brussels, Efi Koutsokosta, Pancheri’s testimony will begin next Tuesday and will be held in secret locations as the Belgian authorities do not want any leaks surrounding the case as the investigation continues.
It is recalled that Pancheri has signed a memorandum of cooperation with the Belgian authorities in order to have a more favorable treatment in his sentence.
Pancheri has already “burned” certain persons in his statements as he has referred to Francesco Giorgi, Mark Trambella and Andrea Coccolino, while according to you he also spoke about Eva Kaili not in the most positive way.
New submission from Kaili
Also, according to the SKAI correspondent, it is not excluded that in the next few days the Belgian authorities will call Eva Kaili again for a supplementary statement and before the official hearing that will be held to examine her request for release from prison.
The pressure from Athens for the seat of Kaili is intensifying
At the same time, the pressure is intensifying both from PASOK-KINAL and from the MEPs in order for Eva Kaili to hand over her seat with her, however, so far she does not seem willing to do so.
However, if an MEP is not convicted in the second instance, then the European Parliament cannot take his seat.
