“We are not going to follow the Turkish leadership down the dead-end road of polarization,” notes Mr. Economou
Greece is not going to follow the Turkish leadership on the dead-end road of polarization, government spokesman Yannis Oikonomou says in a statement regarding yesterday’s provocative statements by the Turkish president, Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
Mr. Economou states: “We are not going to follow the Turkish leadership down the dead end road of polarization. Greece defends its interests, guided by International Law. Her positions are well-known, firm, clear and absolutely strong. Greece is not intimidated by anyone in any way.”
Recep Tayyip Erdogan launched new threats against Greece yesterday.
Repeating his provocative rhetoric, he once again invokes the Turkish Tayfyn missile and, as reported by Sky’s correspondent, Manolis Kostidis, states:
“There is a strong Turkey. Turkey produced a missile called Tayfun. What if this hits Athens? We have no such problem, be smart. If you militarize the islands, will we stand still? Look Mitsotakis, you are talking right and left again. Know this very well: If you try to make a mistake, know that the crazy Turks will march (s.s. means yurusi)! If you act smart, we have no business with you.’
