The Minister of Culture and Sports, during her position in the Parliament on the motion of no confidence, accused SYRIZA of “instrumentalizing ADAE, as in his days he instrumentalized the cultural heritage to stop investments and public benefit projects.”

“SYRIZA decided yesterday to reappear in the public discourse with the case of the connections in which it has placed its hopes in view of the upcoming elections, because it has nothing to say about the future of the country” said the Minister of Culture and Sports Lina Mendoni speaking to Plenary session on the motion of no confidence tabled by SYRIZA.

The minister underlined that “fortunately in Athens there is this Prime Minister who is Kyriakos Mitsotakis and this Government, who have to demonstrate work with measurable results, with a positive imprint on all the public policies practiced throughout the Territory and not alone in the Athens” He accused the official opposition party of “using ADAE as a tool, just as in his days it used cultural heritage to stop investments and community projects, ignoring jobs and slowing down the development of the country and society.”

SYRIZA said it “proves that it remains true to 2012, 2013, 2014 and insists that its public discourse is toxic and highly abusive”

He forgets that “five whole years of government, they were tested and failed, they ruled and were judged. But we didn’t forget it”

The ND government, said the minister, has learned to function institutionally, to produce work, to seek comparison based on facts in the context of values advocated by the Constitution and our legislation, and citizens have memory and judgement.

He mentioned that as Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis said yesterday from Crete “SYRIZA seeks conflict, because the Government chooses comparison”

Mrs. Mendoni, at the same time, referred to the public policies for culture, the attraction of investments, the creation of economic development and the creation of jobs developed during these years under the ND government.

“Our actions and projects produce tangible and measurable results in the quality of life of citizens, in cultural entrepreneurship, in regional and national economic development” said the minister and added that “our aim is to highlight the developmental dimension of culture. The strengthening of its goodwill on an international level”.

The challenge for us, emphasized Mrs. Mendoni, “was and remains the transformation of cultural management from the inherited statistical approach of the SYRIZA years of government to the developmental and dynamic approach”
