The message that Israel supports the sovereign rights and territorial integrity of Greece was sent by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Israel, Eli Cohen, in his statements after his meeting with the Greek Minister of Foreign Affairs, Nikos Dendias, which took place in Jerusalem. He also noted that differences must be resolved through dialogue and diplomacy and expressed his gratitude for Greece’s friendship with Israel, stating that he is confident that today’s visit by Mr. Dendias will form a strong foundation.
Continuing on the same wavelength, he emphasized that Greece and Israel fulfill an important role in the stability and security of the Eastern Mediterranean and highlighted the close alliance between the two countries and the solidarity in times of peace and crisis.
Starting his statements, Mr. Cohen addressed Mr. Dendias “my friend”, underlining that he is the first foreign minister of a European country to be hosted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Israel. This is not a coincidence, it reflects Israel’s strategic relations with Greece, he added.
