The summer period will be critical, when the reservoirs will need to be filled again, said the Minister of Environment and Energy
At the same or slightly lower levels compared to February, electricity tariffs for March are set by the majority of suppliers.
“The de-escalation of the price of natural gas in Europe has also driven down electricity prices, with the result that electricity tariffs for March from the majority of suppliers are at lower levels than in February,” he told the SKAI the Minister of Environment and Energy, Kostas Skrekas.
He reiterated that as long as the energy crisis lasts there will be a subsidy on the bills.
The minister also mentioned that the summer period will be critical when the tanks will need to be filled again.
PPC charges for March are:

Mr. Skrekas also stated that one million households applied for the Change Device program and so far 420,000 have become beneficiaries.
The minister also referred to the completion of the seismic surveys for hydrocarbons in Crete, saying that after 12 months and as long as what we know from the surveys is confirmed, we will have the investment decision for the first drilling in early 2025. “A process that in Cyprus took 6 years, we aspire to have it done in two to three years”, stressed Mr. Skrekas.
