“Oil on the fire” that had already been ignited in the political scene, he added Pavlos Polakiscausing, with his posts on Facebook, great reactions both in the rival parties, and especially in the New Democracy, as well as within SYRIZA.
From tomorrow, a 10-day period of rapid developments at all levels in the political arena begins, as SYRIZA will discuss the issue of Pavlos Polakis, at the same time that the government is completing the procedures for the proposal regarding the amount of the increase in the minimum wage and the prime minister is expected to announce the date of the elections.
The “hot” 10-day period begins with the internal dispute in SYRIZA, the rift between Alexis Tsipras and Pavlos Polakis. Tomorrow Tuesday, at 17:00, a political secretariat is scheduled for SYRIZA, where Alexis Tsipras is expected to make his presentation about the former SYRIZA minister and MP. According to what has been leaked, the president of SYRIZA will propose the expulsion of Pavlos Polakis from the electoral ballots, while, always according to information, Alexis Tsipras is likely to propose the deletion of Polakis from the party.
In both cases, the issue of Pavlos Polakis will be referred to the Ethics Committee of SYRIZA, whose 15-member composition will decide on the former minister. To remove him from the party, 2/3 of the Committee, i.e. 10 votes, are required.
Already, top officials of SYRIZA have expressed their opposition to the possible removal of Pavlos Polakis from the party, which makes the process even more complicated within the main opposition party.
On March 3, the Hatzidakis recommendation on the minimum wage
In this explosive political climate, the government, specifically the Ministry of Labor, is speeding up the procedures for the amount of the increase in the minimum wage, which will take effect from April 1, as announced by Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis.
Mr. Hatzidakis announced that he will submit his proposal for the minimum wage on March 3, to the cabinet.
According to information, the amount of the gross minimum wage will be close to 800 euros, but will not exceed it.
Awaiting the election date from the prime minister
The “hot” 10 days in the political arena is expected to end with the announcement by the Prime Minister of the date of the elections. It is assumed that Kyriakos Mitsotakis will officially mark the pre-election period until March 10, while the most likely date for the first elections is April 9, one week before the Orthodox Easter.
Since the first elections do not result in a government, either independent or cooperative, the country will be led to a second election, this time with the enhanced proportional system.
