“Greece needs a progressive political alternative, which will give perspective to the new generation for a socially just economic development, with respect for the environment, institutions and democracy”. This perspective was presented by Nikos Androulakis in his intervention during the meeting of the Socialists and Democrats board, in Technopolis, Gazi.

The president of PASOK-KINAL also stated that “the tragic train accident in Tempi highlighted the inability of the State to effectively protect the citizens as well as the failure of the staff state, as the Prime Minister calls the way of managing the country”.

He added that the work of the bureau started with a discussion on the just transition and energy poverty. He pointed out the visit to “Melissa”, a center which directly and effectively helps refugee and immigrant women to integrate and to deal with their problems.

Nikos Androulakis also said that in the debate at the Socialists and Democrats presidium he will raise issues concerning Greek society, such as social housing programs, which will de-escalate the cost of living that has increased in recent years due to very high rents as well as the need protection of the first home for the most vulnerable.
