“Unthinkable for him to run again as if nothing happened”
Attack on the former Minister of Infrastructure and Transport, unleashes SYRIZA-PS accusing him of “hiding”.
In his announcement he states: “We are on the 11th day of the tragedy in Tempi and the responsible Minister, Mr. Karamanlis, who for 4 years was in charge of the railways and who 10 days before the accident boldly told SYRIZA that “it is a shame to put security issues”, is ignored. On the first day he pretended to cry, he resigned – not out of decency but to avoid giving answers, and now he is preparing for an election campaign, since Mr. Mitsotakis will have him as a candidate again as if nothing happened.”
Generalizing in its announcement, SYRIZA attacks the deputy ministers while also addressing Kyriakos Mitsotakis saying: “Accordingly, the competent deputy ministers, Mr. Papadopoulos and Mr. Karagiannis, remain in their positions as if nothing is happening and are hiding from the media. How long will Mr. Mitsotakis hide the ministers who for 4 years had the objective political responsibility for the railways and ultimately the tragedy? Will the minister of Tempe, Mr. Karamanlis, seek the vote of the citizens in hiding? The minimum respect for the memory of the victims and their families requires that they immediately give public answers for the discrediting of the OSE, the early warnings of the workers that they ignored and the safeguards that were removed during their days.
No more hypocrisy. No more cover-up.”
