“Clear talks, clear solutions for the future of the country with a self-reliant ND”, the Minister of Citizen Protection, Takis Theodorikakos, said to SKAI and the show “Kalimera” with George Autias.

“ND will be self-sufficient in the elections because there is no other alternative solution in the country and all Greeks who have no mood for instability and experiments understand this. From the rest, we don’t see alternative policies, we don’t see a credible opposition, a serious counter-proposal, and that’s why they resort to catastrophizing and slander. We are absolutely reliable, what we said before the elections we made it a reality, we listen to the voice of society. We are part of society and we implement the plan and we know how to correct mistakes and weaknesses,” said Mr. Theodorikakos, clarifying that “elections are held to answer the stakes, the needs, the interests of the homeland and the Greek people. Priorities for the next four years are better incomes, better salaries, better prospects for all citizens, security and the reconstruction of the state. The ND submits a specific program and submits the work of the previous four years. It undertakes specific commitments and a condition for making these is that there is stability. And stability exists when there is self-reliance. The ND comes to elections with the aim of self-reliance. We clearly say to the Greeks that this is no time for experiments, this is no time for instability, this is no time to turn back. The Prime Minister of the country is the one who managed to keep Greece standing these 4 years and that is Kyriakos Mitsotakis”.

“SYRIZA realizes that it has no chance of being independent. And in fact, it has no chance of being the first party and that’s why it’s talking about some vague coalition government that everyone realizes it has no chance of doing because the rest of the political forces refuse it,” he added.

Regarding the Androulakis proposal, Mr. Theodorikakos argued that “this political position puts the cart in the front and the horse in the back. Instead of telling us what he proposes for the country, what his own program is, what are the conditions for Greece to move forward, he only talks about people. I would like to remind Mr. Androulakis that in the past the ND and PASOK we have worked with the prime minister and the leader of the first party, the ND. And it was a successful collaboration.”

Referring to the complaints against Nikos Papathanasis, Mr. Theodorikakos underlined: “Mr. Papathanasis is another one of the victims that the propaganda system around Documento is trying to make, which provokes Greek society. We are not going to accept these attacks. ND is a popular party, it is the largest popular party in all of Greece and it guarantees the interests of all Greeks, far from the class and technical divisions of yesterday”.

Deep totalitarian, dangerous, adventurous and fascist perception of Polakis

Asked about Mr. Polakis’ post, the Minister of Citizen Protection replied: “We are interested in the life and safety of all Greek citizens, without exception. And that is why we are also interested in the safety of specific journalists, judges or people who are targeted in this obscene, fascist and unacceptable way by these types of people, who are a shame to exist in the political life of the country”.
“These are unprecedented abominations and I thought the official opposition should have gotten rid of these kinds of people and these kinds of perceptions. On the contrary, I see that we are going to elections with the adoption of these logics expressed by Mr. Polakis, which takes us many decades back. They are totalitarian perceptions, they are fascism, they are a shame. In civilized European states there are no such logics. The official opposition, after 4 years in power, should have gotten rid of such perceptions. And instead of getting rid of it, it adopts them and goes to elections as a political proposition. The concept expressed by this gentleman is profoundly totalitarian, dangerous, adventurist and fascist. Mr. Tsipras will regret putting Mr. Polakis on the ballot again,” added Mr. Theodorikakos.

Greece is strong and respectable

Referring to the national issues, Mr. Theodorikakos emphasized that “Greece is strong and respectable. And the way to be able to enforce stability and peace in the region and be in good neighborliness with Turkey, respecting International Law, is to be strong. And this government achieved this, with strong strategic alliances, with a military upgrade of the Armed Forces, with the unity and soul that all Greeks have when we defend our homeland”.

“Greece, without a doubt, is the strongest factor of stability in the wider region of the south-eastern Mediterranean. And this was made possible thanks to the hard and systematic effort of the Prime Minister and the government on all fronts. This was expressed by the highly upgraded presence of the Prime Minister in his speech to Congress, which has remained as a key monument in the course of Greece. It is a great event, it has made the country respectable,” he added.
