A series of questions is posed by New Democracy to SYRIZA and Yannis Ragousis for the latter’s luxurious house in Paros that was financed partly on loan from the Worker’s Housing Agency.

In a statement issued by Piraeus, it is noted:

As long as SYRIZA and Mr. Ragousis continue to hypocritically throw the ball in the ring about the case of his villa, which was financed by the Workers’ Housing Organization, so that it can be exploited for tourism, we will continue to repeat the following relentless questions:

– In the loan agreement regarding this property, it appears that the property is 200 square meters. It is at least funny that the Labor Housing Organization finances a 200 square meter first home with a swimming pool on an Aegean island. On the other hand, if one looks at the advertisements of the specific property on the various platforms, it is stated that it is 450 sq.m. How from 200 sq.m. the ultra-luxury property became 450 sq.m.? Was there some kind of legalization done? When and with what provisions?

– The loan of the Workers’ Housing Organization, for social reasons, was 145,000 euros and he has stated that he repaid it immediately. How much more did the said investment of 450 sq.m. cost? with the pool and how was it paid for? Are these amounts covered by Mr. Ragousi’s estate?

⁃ Mr. Ragousis stated in his statement that since 2014, the property in question has been the permanent family residence during the winter months, while during the tourist months he rents it out for livelihood reasons. Are these amounts normally declared to the tax office?

⁃ For how many weeks per year do you rent the villa in question? If one compares the average rental prices shown on the platforms where the villa is listed, with the incomes declared in his pothen esche, he must rent it for an average of one week a year. Of course, if one enters the platforms in question today, one will see that Villa Ragousi is already “closed” for 35 days this summer.

⁃ How much is he really collecting from the development of this property and why is he advertising it under 13 different names on various platforms?

⁃ Where and how does the said income appear in his account?

– Is Mr. Ragousis willing to make public the records and documents from the platforms through which he rents his villa, so that they can be compared with what he declares in his financial statements?

⁃ How legal and ethical is it for Mr. Ragousis to utilize resources intended for our weak fellow citizens in order to build a villa with a swimming pool, which he exploits financially as an ultra-luxury tourist accommodation?
