To provide answers for what emerges from yesterday’s newspaper article about the SYRIZA MP, Yannis Ragousi, New Democracy calls Alexis Tsipras, accusing the official opposition leader of “pretending that nothing is happening”.

The ND announcement:

“The endless revelations of the newspaper “Apogeumatini” about the villa of the deputy and head of the Transparency department of SYRIZA, Yannis Ragousisthey expose himself every day Alexis Tsipras who pretends nothing is happening.

Today, new evidence is coming to light that proves that Mr. Ragousis received a refundable deposit three times in the years 2020 and 2021, when indeed he and his party had harshly criticized the specific measure that kept the market world standing.

The questions for Mr. Tsipras are now relentless:

  • In the loan agreement of the Workers’ Housing Organization, it appears that the property is 200 sq.m. On the contrary, in the advertisements of the specific property on the various platforms it is stated that it is 450 sq.m. How from 200 sq.m. the ultra-luxury property became 450 sq.m.? Was there some kind of legalization done? When and with what provisions?
  • How legal and above all how ethical is it for Mr. Ragousis to use resources intended for our weak fellow citizens in order to build a villa with a swimming pool, which he financially exploits as an ultra-luxury tourist accommodation despite the fact that it was financed as his main residence?
  • The loan of the Workers’ Housing Organization was 145,000 euros and the Member of Parliament himself has stated that he repaid it immediately. How much did the said investment of the 450 sq.m. villa cost in the end? with the pool and tennis court and how was it paid for? Are these amounts covered by Mr. Ragousi’s estate?
  • Given that on all platforms the villa Ragousi is already booked for this summer with astronomical rental amounts, are these amounts normally declared to the tax office? Why doesn’t the SYRIZA Transparency Division publicize the full financial data regarding the operation of his individual business?
  • How much does Mr. Ragousis really collect from the exploitation of the specific property and why in the years 2019 and 2020 in his published return is no income from the exploitation of the property declared?
  • How ethical is it for Mr. Tsipras to tolerate a Member of Parliament who hires his two children as “office workers” in his villa? What kind of work should two “office workers” provide in a villa?
  • What is his answer to the fact that all this scheming was done, on the one hand, to increase the operating costs of his business, and therefore pay less tax, and on the other hand, his children are entitled to seasonal unemployment benefits, which they still receive today?
  • How ethical is it for Mr. Tsipras, on the one hand, to blame the measure of the refundable advance payment and characterize it as “cheating the freelancers” and at the same time tolerate one of his Members of Parliament, who makes use of these arrangements to collect 11,000 euros?”
