The development plan for region of the Ionian Islands in 2030 presented to Corfu The Kyriakos Mitsotakis. The prime minister emphasized that there are specific timetables and guaranteed funding for the implementation of such development policies.

He noted that the government secured financial tools such as the new NSRF, funds from the public investment program, the “Antonis Tritsis” and the Recovery Fund of 31 billion euros for which he recalled that he negotiated for days.

In detail, Mr. Mitsotakis referred to the infrastructures with special reference to the port infrastructures.

He also spoke about the road connections with special reference to the Argostoli – Poros road and the submarine connection to Lefkada.

Earlier, the regional governor of the Ionian Islands, Rodi Kratsa, presented the projects carried out since 2019 and, concluding, emphasized the need “self-sufficient, stable, government that will continue the modernization of the country”.

The plan for the development of the Ionian Islands in their area was presented by the Minister of Commercial Shipping Yannis Plakiotakis, the Deputy Minister of Infrastructure and Transport Giorgos Karagiannis, the Deputy Minister of the Interior Stelios Petsas, the Minister of Culture Lina Mendoni, the Deputy Minister of Education and Religion Zetta Makri, the deputy Minister of Health Mina Gaga, the Deputy Minister to the Prime Minister for State Aid and Rehabilitation from Natural Disasters Christos Triandopoulos, the Secretary of State for Coordination of Waste Management of the Ministry. of Energy & Environment Manolis Grafakos, the Minister of Tourism Vassilis Kikilias and the Deputy Minister of Rural Development and Food Giorgos Stylios.

In total, the ND development plan for the region of the Ionian Islands includes more than 260 projects with a budget of 1.3 billion euros and other interventions of 500 million euros.
