Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis is visiting her today Kefalonia and specifically Lixouri and Argostoli.

“These elections are particularly critical. The real question at this moment is whether the country will continue the path of progress that we have charted in the last four years, despite the great difficulties that we have been called to face, or whether we will go back to a past that we want to forget for good” said the Prime Minister in an interview with the “Island 93.9” radio station.

“Of course this is a dilemma that has a reference both at the local and regional level. Personally, I am a person who knows Kefalonia well, I visited it very often when I was younger. I know the problems, I know the important projects that need to be done, with the most important being the road from Argostoli to Poros, which I believe we will be able to auction before the end of the year” said Kyriakos Mitsotakis.

At the same time, in his speech at LixouriMr. Mitsotakis expressed the belief that the citizens will once again trust the ND – just like the citizens in the uni-federal Kefalonia.

For the island

“The work that still needs to be done at the hospital. I am glad that we finally have new emergency departments at Argostoli Hospital. We will make sure to open the intensive care unit as soon as possible. The work that needs to be done in Lixouri, where I come from, again to support health.

And of course the total investments that your island can initiate, an island with very great development potential. Flagship of our tourism with a record number of arrivals in 2022 and I believe in 2023 as well.

And I must tell you that I am also very optimistic about the prospects of Kefalonia. And I am absolutely sure that not only will we win the monohedral again, but we can also widen our gap with SYRIZA.

For compensations and projects on the island

Significant progress has been made but we can always do better. I want to be completely honest, I believe that especially after the “Janos” disaster, for the first time the State reacted with such great speed.

We overcome many bureaucratic hurdles. And a series of projects that were completely stuck, practically non-existent, such as the road or the Argostoli Museum, a project that was essentially matured and is being auctioned by this government, are projects that within the next four years, at the end of the four years, will they have already been completed,” the prime minister emphasized in his interview.
