Dendias is going to Brest for the informal meeting of EU Foreign Ministers

Foreign Minister Nikos Dendias is leaving for Brest tomorrow, Thursday 13 January, to participate in the informal meeting of the Foreign Ministers of the European Union member states (“Gymnich”).

In particular, tomorrow the Minister of Foreign Affairs will participate in a joint working lunch of the Ministers of Foreign Affairs as well as of the Ministers of Defense of the European Union, on the topic of the “Strategic Compass”.

A revised text will be presented at the working lunch, based on observations and discussions between Member States that have taken place in recent weeks, according to a Foreign Ministry statement.

Then, in the afternoon of the same day, the first working meeting will be held to discuss the “Security Situation in Eastern Europe”.

The second meeting to discuss the European Union’s relations with China will take place on Friday, 14 January.

Following the work, the Foreign Ministers will attend a working lunch hosted by the French Presidency to discuss relations between the European Union and the African Union, in view of the relevant Summit to be held next month (February 2022). .

The working lunch is expected to be attended by the President of Senegal and President of the African Union Macky Sall, as well as the President of the African Union Commission Moussa Faki Mahamat.
