The number of Greeks abroad who have the right to vote in the upcoming national elections from their place of residence reached 25,610.

Initially, 28,100 had the right to be registered in the special foreign electoral rolls, but there were approximately 2,500 voters who chose to suspend their registration probably because during this period they will be in Greece and will exercise their right to vote here.

The number of emigrants who will vote (one day earlier) in the polling stations that will be set up abroad is increased by 2,755 compared to the May elections. Out of a total of 22,855 registered, 18,203 finally came to the ballot box (79.65% participation).

Also, according to data from the Ministry of the Interior, approximately 146,000 are the voters who will vote in the next elections as non-citizens in their municipality of residence. It is noted that this option is available to those who submitted a relevant application and it has been processed until April 30, 2023.

The platform of the Ministry of the Interior “Learn where you vote” is gradually updated with the updated data on emigrants and non-residents.

Facilitation for non-residents

The Ministry of the Interior, for the convenience of voters who wish to exercise their right to vote in the Municipality of their residence in the parliamentary elections of June 25, 2023, has ensured that non-citizens who have submitted a relevant application to the competent Municipality and which has been processed no later than April 30, 2023, to vote in their Municipality of residence.

At the same time, it is clarified that any application not processed by April 30, will not be taken into account in the upcoming election process.

Otherwise, the other conditions of the electoral legislation remain in force.
