An echelon of New Democracy visited Serres, led by the former Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and candidate for Member of Parliament B2 for the Western Sector of Athens, Miltiadis Varvitsiotis, and the former Deputy Minister of the Interior responsible for Macedonia-Thrace, candidate for Member of Parliament A for Thessaloniki, Stavros Kalafatis.

During the tour, Mr. Varvitsiotis and Mr. Kalafatis, accompanied by the candidate deputies of the prefecture and the president and members of the DEEP, visited the areas of Nigrita, Nea Zichni and the city of Serres where they had the opportunity to inform citizens for the New Democracy program, to communicate with local officials and also to record the development potential of the region in meetings they had with representatives of authorities and agencies.

Immediately after the end of the tour, Mr. Varvitsiotis said: “Serres sends a message of victory and self-reliance. In the May 21 elections, Serres gave New Democracy and Kyriakos Mitsotakis a strong vote of confidence with a large percentage, 46.98%. Our goal in Sunday’s elections is to go even higher. Just 24 hours before the polls, we saw today here in Serres, the climate of enthusiasm and optimism that exists for the election result. The citizens of Serres turned their backs on Mr. Tsipras who came to politicize here in the previous elections. They have shown him that they do not want him to represent them. I am optimistic that the citizens of Macedonia will respond to the call of the New Democracy and vote for stability, growth, income growth and the strengthening of Greece both abroad and at home. They will vote for a strong government and a strong prime minister, New Democracy and Kyriakos Mitsotakis.”
