Moraitis: “My dream is for Panathinaikos to become a seven-star player”

A few days after his departure from the Pigeon bwinDimitris Moraitis was announced by Panathinaikos whose jersey he will wear for the next three years.

In his first statements as a player of the “greens”, the Greek guard emphasized that he is excited to play in such a big team, while he stated that his goal is to help Panathinaikos reach the Euroleague.

What he said in detail:

“My feelings are truly indescribable. I am very happy, it is a great honor to be in such a great and historic team, as is Panathinaikos. I’m looking forward to everything and will try to help the team as much as I can.”

On the goals he would like to achieve with Panathinaikos: “In general, I don’t like to say big words, but, obviously, a big goal that I would like to achieve is to become the Panathinaikos seven-star. I think it’s the dream and vision of all of us, it would be a huge success for me.”

Regarding whether it was his dream, from an early age, to transfer to a team like Panathinaikos: “Obviously, I think it’s every child’s dream to play in such a big team and in the Euroleague. As I said before, I’m very happy to be here, I can’t wait and I can’t wait to play in front of so many people.”

About Ergin Ataman and their collaboration: “I think I will learn a lot from him, he is one of the best coaches in the Euroleague, at the given time, he has won two Euroleagues, back to back. I look forward to working with him.”

On what he expects his first appearance in a packed OAKA to be like: “I’m looking forward, I’m waiting how and how to play in a full OAKA, to feel the people shouting for us. I want to feel it, I really can’t wait.”

For the team world: “I expect the people to fill the stadium, to support us every day. I, for my part, will do my best for Panathinaikos, in order for us all to reach where we want to be and to fulfill our goals.”
