First cabinet meeting at 11 a.m. on Wednesday – The prime minister will hand over files with priorities to the ministers – Digital governance, taxation, renationalization EYDAP and EYATH are “running” immediately
The mark of the policy that will follow the entire 4 years will be given by the first 100 days of the new government of Kyriakos Mitsotakis, immediately implementing the plan of general reforms that it intends to pass, in order to change the everyday life of the citizens for the better.
As Kyriakos Mitsotakis had stated, the bet of the new 4-year period concerns the improvement of citizens’ living conditions, both at the level of real income (increase in wages, reduction of taxation), and at the level of services in Health, Education and the digitization of the State. Further modernization of all public structures and infrastructures is not just a bet for the new government, but is inextricably linked to bureaucracy and government costs, as well as the psychology of citizens, which will be improved to the greatest extent by immediate and exhausting their service and the arrangement of standard processes, which in other times would have taken days and employed manpower.
First ministerial at 11 am
On Wednesday morning at 11, Kyriakos Mitsotakis will give a detailed briefing to his ministers in the first cabinet of the new government and will hand them files with directions, on the priorities.
The first bill, therefore, which is being launched for a vote in the Parliament, concerns digital governance, the citizen’s communication with the State and the public administration. The bill which will bear the title “Staff 2” and will concern the operation of the staff State, in all its aspects and extensions.
The second bill concerns the code of administrative procedure. That is, the way in which the citizen will be able to communicate with the public administration. Communication will become more digital and therefore easy, saving time and money for citizens and the State.
The third bill that will be presented to the Parliament concerns taxation. Kyriakos Mitsotakis pledged during his pre-election campaign that he would submit a law with all the financial measures by the end of the 4th year, so that the citizen would know what is going to happen in the coming years. The prime minister will immediately implement his commitments, giving, at the same time, the stamp of his policy for this second term of his, but also to prove in practice to the voters who honored him with their choice, that what he announced will be implemented.
The fourth bill will concern the renationalization of EYDAP and EYATH, as Kyriakos Mitsotakis had promised during the pre-election period.
The priorities in Health and Education
Also among the priorities of the new government is the acceleration in the improvement of Health services and the modernization of the structures, with the recruitment of medical and nursing staff and the supply of the required machines.
Digitization in Education is a big bet, with the placement of Kyriakos Pierrakakis in the specific portfolio giving the mark of what will happen in the course of 4 years. The coordination of the educational system with the digital age is a huge task, which, the new leadership of the ministry, is called upon to carry out, changing – in essence – the image and the way of operation.
