“When you say that your political father is Kasidiaris and then you are upset because the media call you neo-Nazis, that is what you should look for and not the media” said Minister of State Makis Voridis, responding, in the Parliament, to a topical question of Member of Parliament of the “Spartiates” K.O., K. Katsivardas, on the subject of “Vandalism of legal and political offices, hate speech against the legitimately elected Spartans party”.

Because you complain about the control exercised by the media. Didn’t you thank Kasidiaris for helping you with your election? You miss the fact that Kasidiaris is convicted and is serving a sentence for participating in a criminal organization, an organization called Golden Dawn and to which murders, beatings and other horrific illegal acts have been attributed”, stressed Mr. Voridis and added: “I see you very much in favor of legitimacy and devotion to Democracy but I did not understand how you marry all this with the recognition of the political role of Kasidiaris in your political evolution”.

“That is, don’t be called Nazis and racists. You do not want. You are upset about it. But your political dad is Kasidiaris? Does what you say make sense to you? Here, [..] you are no longer in your company. You won’t be saying it yourself, and there’s a public audience watching. I am very happy if you want to abstain, tomorrow morning, from the support Kasidiaris has given you. I’m waiting to hear it. And to hear them not once, (but) repeatedly and completely, in order to convince you that this is sincere. But when until yesterday you say that, essentially, your political father is Kasidiaris, you recognize and thank him for your election… Kasidiaris is a neo-Nazi with a court stamp and convicted for the acts he was convicted of, which, by the court, not by me, they recognize that they were motivated by the neo-Nazi ideology, he is your political dad and you thank him, and then you get upset because the media call you neo-Nazis, you should look for that and not the media”, pointed out the Minister of State.

Earlier, Mr. Katsivardas said that the cornerstone of his party’s ideology is constitutional patriotism and democratic legitimacy, while he had asked the government to condemn the “hate speech campaign by some mass media” and “character assassination » of its executives and deputies.

“We see a new messianic totalitarianism unfolding where the modern inquisitors [..] they are trying to neutralize the dissidents”, underlined the member of the KO of the “Spartiates”.

He also asked the government to condemn in addition to hate speech and incidents of vandalism at colleagues’ law offices.

Mr. Voridis called it self-evident that the government condemns any illegal action.
