The Minister of Climate Crisis and Civil Protection Vassilis Kikilias, had a working meeting today in the office at the Ministry, with Mr president of the Protection Association for the Development of Ymittos and mayor of Ellinikos-Argyroupoli Yiannis Constantatos.

As it became known from the Ministry of Climate Crisis and Civil Protection, the meeting was requested by Mr. Constantatos in order to inform the Minister about the actions of SPAW.

Particularly, the president of SPAW informed Mr. Kikilia about 2-3 fires that have occurred so far in the area of ​​Ymittosbut the volunteers of the local government caught up with them and they were dealt with immediately.

The two men discussed in general the issues of prevention at the local level through the involvement of the local government. It is noted that SPAH has a highly developed network of volunteers, which has very good communication and cooperation with the Fire Department, as Ymittos is considered one of the most sensitive areas of Attica and has been repeatedly hit by fires, which have even caused significant damage to the residential fabric .
