“We will work to restore it as soon as possible the damage to the natural environment of Rhodes”, the prime minister pledged on Friday Kyriakos Mitsotakis during the meeting that took place at the Chamber of Dodecanese on Friday afternoon the Prime Minister Mr. Kyriakos Mitsotakis.

The prime minister performed an autopsy on the burned areas of the island, and was informed about the process of recording and restoring the damage that was burned in the great fire of July.

Mr. Mitsotakis referred extensively to the effort made to deal with the fire and the coordinated actions that have been taken to deal with all the problems.

The prime minister, in the context of his position we gave credit to the local community of Rhodes, the local authorities, the Fire Department and the Coast Guard, for their great contribution to extinguishing the fire and especially to the evacuation of thousands of residents and visitors from the affected areas.

“Our goal is also to make it longer the tourist season on the island, and there is already a big tourist campaign in this direction.

Mr. Mitsotakis also assured that “next year will find us even more ready throughout the country, to deal with fires”.

The Prime Minister heard in detail from those present the problems that were created as they were captured during the autopsies that were carried out, while he was informed by the Mayor and the regional governor about the efforts being made to return the island to normality.

The regional governor participated in the meeting at the Chamber of Dodecanese George Hadjimarkosthe mayor of Rhodes Antony Kampourakis and the president of the Chamber John Grandfather.

Also present at the meeting were several presidents of the local communities affected by the fire, as well as the representatives of the Civil Protection of the municipality of Rhodes and the S. Aegean region.
